The 2008 NOVFA Antique Fire Muster will be hosted by the Gorham-Fayette Fire Department on August 23 and 24, 2008. The events will take place at the Harrison Lake State Park near Fayette.
The Muster will be receiving group rates for non-electric camp sites (18 to 20 sites available) on a first come-first serve basis. You may also rent any other sites at the park at regular prices. Sites may be rented 6 months prior to the date of the Muster. Harrison Lake State Park-419.237.2593. Information can also be found at the Ohio State Parks website. Because of the Emerald Ash Borer, you must burn all the wood that is brought to your campsite or give to another camper.
For a "new twist" on the competition, there will be stop signs included in the Fire Response driving course to help keep speeds down to a safe level. Drivers will have to stop with the front bumper behind the cross walk line to avoid penalty.
Gorham-Fayette is planning a truck show during the Muster and are encouraging anyone with a truck to show to participate.
